The Orange Lions Thanksgiving Dinner Was Huge

For 37 years, the members of the Lions Club of Orange have hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner  at High Plains Community Center

The dinner is open to everyone free of charge, but their target guests are the town’s elders, shut-ins, and all those in need of good food and fellowship. Craig Calistro played holiday classics from the front of the gym, keeping everyone entertained from salad to pumpkin pie..

The menu included salad, rolls, turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans, and Pumpkin pie. Soft drinks, tea, and coffee will be available.

The deadline to get your name on the list was Friday, November 21, which allowed the Lions to know how many guests to expect, (so they have enough food for everyone).

About 140 individuals called in advance to reserve their seats, but before the opening prayer, so many walk-ins showed up that they had to set up a couple more tables. In addition, Amity students and local scouts volunteered to serve…the Lions feed everyone in attendance so that’s a lot of extra food that they may not have anticipated.
