The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Alert For our area for this evening into the morning commute.
Icy spots are possible overnight due to standing water from recent precipitation and temperatures well below freezing.
Drivers should exercise caution if traveling tonight into the Friday morning commute. North winds around 10 mph and falling temperatures will result in wind chills dropping from the single digits overnight to around 5 below zero during the early morning hours on Friday.
Bundle up the kids for their wait at the bus stop. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves and perhaps a scarf to minimize exposure to the wind. Be sure to wear warm footwear with a good tread to protect your feet from the cold and slippery surfaces.
