The past 6 – 9 months have been extremely frustrating for me. After working so hard for 14 years to make Orange Live a reliable place for Orange residents to find local news, something at WordPress (my web hosting company) went terribly wrong.
I lost all control over the appearance of the site, placement of stories, and so much more. If I write 5 pieces in a day only one will show up on the front page, for a long period of time. Old stories pop up and take over the front page, such as two month old police items or obituaries.
Also, the links that I’ve used for more than a decade on Facebook crossposts no longer work.
WordPress says a nefarious code was inserted into customers’ sites with a standard update, I tried the fix they described, but obviously, It didn’t work.
I will continue to try and make things right again. If I can’t, I may just have to retire.
