What You Should Know Before You Toss That Bottled Water

Some residents may have heard of an alarming recall of Dasani bottled water, citing a clear parasitic worm that has made hundreds of people ill.
The story was shared by many people on Facebook who believed it to be true without fact-checking.
Before you clear out your cabinets and refrigerators of unopened containers, you should know that
the Coca-Cola company has not issued a recall for Dasani and says the water is safe to drink.
Recently, the company issued the following statement: “The source of this false and inflammatory information about our brand is a hoax news website. There is no recall of Dasani being conducted in the U.S.”
The nasty story stated that the FDA had shut down a manufacturing plant and was recommending that people “boil the water to kill the parasite if they have no choice but to consume the water.” — ew, how ridiculous!
A representative of the Food and Drug Administration stated it is not aware of any current recalls or disease outbreaks associated with Dasani water, and that it is not working with the company on any recall of the product.
