OMG Henri: Much Ado About Nothing It Seems

All the tracking and 24-hour weather coverage for — What?
Hurricane Henri, then Tropical Storm Henri is turning out to be a big fat nothing. Pumps at many stations have yellow covers on them indicating that they are out of gas. Bread shelves at grocery stores are picked through and now we’re not even anticipating any kind of inconvenience from Mother Nature around here.
Oh, the UI has a little bit of work to do, as of 2 p.m. Trumbull has 9 outages and North Branford has 15 customers without service.
Whoop de Doo!
Every weather alert that pops up on our phones brings a little update, but they have little or nothing to do with what will affect Orange residents unless of course, you’re cruising the coast to see how wild the surf has gotten in Milford or New Haven.
Was it worth it for me to stay on top of the storm for you over the past few days? Well, in a way, yes. It MAY have been important if it had actually followed the original path and impacted us.
It’s a relief that the storm changed course and we’re seeing sunshine instead of damaging wind and rain, and our Highway Department and First Responders aren’t overworked with emergency calls today.
