Shoplifting At Shop Rite

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, Orange Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Shop Rite on Bull Hill Lane at 5:26 p.m.
Investigation revealed that Diana G. Broadbent, 31, of West Haven took $274 worth of merchandise without paying for it. 
She was taken into custody and charged with sixth-degree larceny, then released on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 25.

Post-Holiday Shoplifting Trip

On Thursday, Dec. 28, officers were dispatched to Home Depot on the Boston Post Road on a shoplifting complaint at 11:07 a.m.
According to the report, Angel L. Acosta, 37, of New Haven took $326 worth of merchandise without paying for it.   He also was in possession of a shoplifting tool and drug paraphernalia. 
He was charged with sixth-degree larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a shoplifting device. 
Acosta was released on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 19.

Grocery Store Shoplifting

A shoplifting complaint on Dec. 28 led to the arrest of a 58-year-old West Haven man.
Officers responded to Shop Rite on Bull Hill Lane at 7:34 p.m. on a shoplifting complaint.
According to the report, Jose Paredes-Melendez was accused of taking $92 worth of merchandise without paying for it. He was taken into custody and charged with sixth-degree larceny. 
He was released on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 19.

Christmas Eve DUI Arrest

Officers were dispatched to the area of Woodside Drive at Racebrook Road on a complaint of a suspicious running vehicle at 7:26 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Investigation revealed that Pascual Olgen Odilio, 34, of New Haven was asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle.  Officers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and Odillo was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving with a suspended license.  
Odilio was released after posting a $50 cash bond and was given a court date of January 19.
