At 10:07 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, Orange police on a traffic detail observed a vehicle traveling on the Boston Post Road. A check of the vehicle showed it to be stolen out of New Haven.
Officers stopped the car and questioned the driver, James H. Curtis, 29, of New Haven.
Subsequently, he was taken into custody and charged with third-degree larceny and improper use of a marker plate.
Curtis was released on a promise to appear in court on March 1.
