On Monday, Jan. 17, Orange police officers were dispatched to Wheelers Farm Road on a report of a single car motor vehicle accident at 7:54 p.m.
During the investigation, the driver Douglas S. Oliver, 35, of Derby alluded to being intoxicated. He was asked to perform Standardized Sobriety
Field Tests.
According to the report, officers also located a weapon in Oliver’s vehicle for which he did not have a permit. Subsequently, he was taken into custody
and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle without a permit.
Oliver was held on a $2,000 bond until he was released with a court date of Jan. 31.
