On Wednesday, Sept. 29, officers responded to the Target store, 25 Boston Post Road on a complaint of a shoplifting in progress at 1:08 p.m.
Investigation revealed that Anthony D. King, 47, of West Haven took $1,574 worth of merchandise without paying for it.
According to the report, he was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree larceny.
King was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 14.
