At 8:54 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, Orange Police responded to the area of 377 Boston Post Road for a suspicious man holding what appeared to be a rifle or firearm.
According to the report, upon arrival, officers came into contact with Vincent C. Marchitto, 34, of Orange, who threatened officers on scene and resisted arrest. Police were able to safely seize and secure the weapon, which turned out to be a BB gun type of weapon.
Ultimately, he was taken into custody and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree threatening, breach of peace, and interfering/resisting arrest.
Marchitto was released on a non-surety bond and received a court date of July 28.
