Orange Police responded to a complaint of a shoplifting in progress at Target, 25 Boston Post Road, at 9:27 p.m. on Dec. 15.
Investigation revealed that Leaha M. Hardisty, 38, of East Haven, took $803 worth of merchandise without paying for it.
She was taken into custody and charged with fifth-degree larceny.
Hardisty was released on a promise to appear in Derby Court on Jan. 11.
