After three tough losses the Amity Girls Basketball team bounced back Friday night with a tremendous win versus an extremely athletic Hillhouse team.The energy in the gym was amazing after Senior captain Jillian Martin scored her 1,000 point early in the first quarter!
The girls played with such energy, toughness and togetherness throughout the night. An impressed balanced offensive attack kept Amity in the lead entire game. Team scored five three pointers in first quarter from 4 different girls (Martin 2, Blakeslee, Whitman and Granadas all with 1)
Half time score 35-27.
Tremendous defensive effort from all the girls , especially from Catherine Thomas ( 9 rebounds) and Abby Eschweiler (7 rebounds) with big defensive rebounds all game.Great balanced offensive attack lead by Martin with 18 points, Blakeslee’s with 12, Whitman 9 points, Granados 7 points, Thomas 4 points.
The team shot 13 for 15 from foul line, including 7 for 8 clutch foul shots in the fourth quarter!

The Lady Spartans improved their record to 6-4 and the next game is on Tuesday vs North Haven.
