The Orange Lions Club will be collecting donations of cash or checks made to Orange Lions Charities on Saturday and Sunday at the Country Fair Civic Tent table, at the Orange Fairgrounds, 525 Orange Center Road, Orange.
Fidelco Trainer Kevin Carney is bringing a guide dog in training for everyone to meet from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday the 17th. “Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation partners with people who are blind with their expertly bred and trained German Shepherd guide dogs, providing all clients with increased independence to improve their lives in the world around them.”
During the last year, Fidelco has placed more than 30 guide dogs with blind partners. Raising and training the dog and getting the animal to the final owner cost a hefty sum of about $70,000 per placement.
Throughout the pandemic, the Foundation and the entire staff has worked very hard to continue their mission despite quarantine restrictions. Donations are needed to maintain resources and increase monetary levels to pre-pandemic levels and beyond.
Anyone who cannot attend the fair, but would like to contribute to this wonderful cause, can send donations to Orange Lions Charites PO Box 824, Orange, Ct 06477. Memo Fidelco on the check.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the fair. Thank you for your support to the Fidelco Guide Dogs for the blind and your continued support to the Orange Lions Club.
Sincerely, Marianne Miller Orange Lions Club
