Orange police were dispatched to 25 Boston Post Road (Target) for a shoplifting incident in progress on Friday, July 18 at 4:50 p.m.
According to the report, officers came into contact with Anthony Tarantino, 51, of New Haven, and Tarantino tried to run from the police.
He was ultimately taken into custody.
The investigation revealed that Tarantino stole $38 worth of merchandise. Subsequently, he was charged with six-degree larceny and interfering with police/resisting arrest.
Police said Tarantino was held on a $15,000 bond and received a court date of July 21.
