Winter Weather Advisory In Effect: Slippery Conditions

A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until 3 a.m. Saturday according to the National Weather Service.

Before 9 p.m. tonight freezing rain will add a light glaze of ice accumulation.

If you are out (walking or driving) plan on slippery conditions that may be undetectable. Take baby steps, and drive “like an old lady.” [that comes from a card-carrying ‘Old Lady’]

In addition, temperatures will continue to gradually fall throughout the night — Low around 17. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. North wind around 8 mph. — with areas of standing water freezing and producing black ice.

Please use extreme caution, especially on bridges, overpasses and around curves. Allow plenty of stopping distance and avoid braking suddenly.
